propublica.org
ProPublica is an independent, nonprofit newsroom that produces investigative journalism. The publication covers a range of topics including government and politics, business, criminal justice, the environment, education, health care, immigration, and technology.
Working closely with both the Design Director and the Director of Marketing in ProPublica, I redesigned their quarterly Impact Report. My effort was to create a dynamic and compelling document which could elevate their fundraising campaigns while also soliciting new stakeholders.

One Small Step is an effort to remind the country of the humanity in all of us—even those with whom we disagree. This program brings strangers together for a conversation about their lives–not to debate politics. Each conversation is archived at the Library of Congress and a small number of interviews are edited into short audio and animated stories that showcase the impact of One Small Step.
For this project I worked closely with the Bay Area based design studio IDW to expand and implement their newly established identity for OSS. While they developed and produced the foundational design elements, I used their materials to build out a large suite of promotional materials.

BRIC is an organization that presents contemporary art, performing arts and community media programs reflecting Brooklyn’s creativity and diversity. As a presenter of cultural programming, BRIC also provides resources to launch and showcase both artists and media makers.
From 2013 to 2016, I teamed up with the organization’s marketing department to create printed materials including seasonal catalogs, ad campaigns, and bus shelter posters.

Project 1
Created in partnership with Brooklyn Public Library, I developed site-specific signage and installed it throughout their artist residence space. These designs included a 17 x 12 foot wall illustration of a map of New York City welcoming visitors into the studios.
Project 2
Working alongside the development team at Governor's Island, I designed banners for the new artist studios being constructed on the grounds.

Niche Media publishes city-specific and specialty magazines that celebrate the communities they serve with insightful and engaging content covering lifestyles, restaurants, and fashion nationwide.
While facilitating various style guidelines between ten publications, I worked with Niche Media’s art directors and staff writers to design multipage articles.

In celebration of the 200 year anniversary of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein I collaborated with both the Morgan Library’s education and digital departments to design a nationally distributed online teaching curriculum including a 75 page catalog. For this project I worked within the already established branding materials of the Morgan while incorporating the various aesthetics of Frankenstein over the eras of its expansive history.
